Titirangi Advent Fair Celebrates 25 Magical Years
This year is the 25th anniversary of our Advent Fair! What began as a small fair in 1989 when the school was located in Parau is now one of West Auckland's much-loved events.
People love the village atmosphere and travel from as far and wide to experience the good food, the great music, the unique activities and shopping!
The entertainment at the fair this year provides a world flavour with the headline act "Daddy's Lost His Head". The band features international recording artist Chinmaya Dunster, who plays a unique blend of Irish and Indian music called 'Celtic Ragas.' Beatle Sir Paul McCartney described Chinmaya's style as one of his favourites and even booked him to perform at his 2002 wedding.
Other music acts include award-winning children's musician Mr Roberelli, 'The Singing Cowboy' Russell Scoones, the Carolina Moon jazz group and Brazilian duo Bem Te Vi.
The day of festivities includes stalls, craft making, food, children's activities, storytelling, music, flying fox, and a wide range of stalls.
Visitors can get hands-on with craft activities such as making wreaths and rolling beeswax candles.
For small children the fair is a magical experience featuring children-only spaces including storytelling with the Fairy Queen, the children's shopping bazaar, the children's café and the fishing game. Adventurous children can try archery, catapults and the best flying fox in West Auckland.
Over 60 stalls will sell jewellery, clothes, toys, christmas decorations, handmade soap, art tiles, woodwork and gift ideas inspired by nature.
In addition to barista coffee and a crêpes stall, the ever popular fusion-style café offers homemade sushi, curries, organic fare and much more.
