This year’s Autumn Festival will have both familiar and new aspects. It is the wish of the teachers to renew the inner life of the festivals and bring the children together in this atmosphere. All week the whole community of children and teachers have gathered together with this aim. On Saturday afternoon there will be a sharing of this work with the families and friends of the school. Harvest donations are invited for the table in the courtyard. These donations will be gifted to charity. It is a chance to share our wealth, be it ever so humble.

Classes 5, 6 and 7 will open the Festival with an extract from a Karl Konig play about Michaelmas. The more familiar Dragon play will follow, though be prepared for a few new aspects.

The programme is as follows;

Up to 2pm: Arrivals and Decorating of Harvest Table

2pm: Play commences in Amphitheatre

Blessing in Courtyard around Harvest Table

Families are invited to bring a picnic if the weather permits to enjoy the remainder of the afternoon.

Children will need to be at school by 1.30pm to prepare for the play in their classrooms.

Parents are reminded that after the blessing they are responsible for their children’s well being and behaviour. We hope that Saturday brings fine weather and an opportunity to give thanks for all that we have received.

Best wishes from the Lower School Teachers
