Indian Meal & Film Fundraiser: One Man, One Cow, One Planet - 6.15pm

Class 12 students and parents would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who came along - they were surprised and rapt by level of the support and good wishes expressed for the upcoming trip to India. Fundraising well exceeded their expectations - over $1,100 raised.

Thank you again to Cloud South Films for gifting the licence and dvds for the raffle; Green Trading for supplying all the ingredients for the organic meal and neem gardening products for the raffle; and Shawn from SLE Productions for the wonderful job with the film setup and sound. Thank you all!

Class 12 students have resolved to take on a big adventure  - travelling to Ahmedabad, India, the hometown of one of their classmates.

They will be in India for almost 4 weeks. It will take them to a world vastly different to their NZ lifestyle -  a first step out into the big wide world and a last powerful experience together.

Cloud South Films and filmmaker, Sumner Burstyn, have very kindly offered a screening of their award-winning inspirational film One Man, One Cow, One Planet to support fundraising for the trip.

This documentary is a beautiful and uplifting film following inspirational New Zealander, Peter Proctor's amazing success helping marginal farmers across India to save their soils, their communities and, quite literally, their lives. Revered in India, Peter is a wonderful example of the difference one person can make to the lives of many. The students will also visit the Sadar Patel farm featured in the film.

Tickets: $10 each; Family concession $20 - available from the school office 817-4386, any Class 12 family; or email

Enjoy an organic Indian meal of dahl, rice and raita (only $6/person; $20 per family of four) and chai courtesy of the wonderful Komal Patel and Green Trading. Please pre-book meals with Komal (so we know how many to cook for!)

All welcome to come and be inspired by how one person can quietly make such a significant difference in the world.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world
