Meaning of Illness - Talk with Dr Ritchie

8pm Titirangi Rudolf Steiner Community Hall.

Koha appreciated.

David Ritchie is a medical practitioner from Christchurch and was a co-founder of Novalis House, which includes a Centre for children with learning problems. He has a long interest in how learning behavior and health can be understood as one picture. He lectures widely in New Zealand and overseas on issues to do with child development and the constitution of the child and is a member of the international school doctor movement. Traditionally Steiner Schools work with a school doctor to gain a medical perspective in understanding children.

He currently works with Dr. Michaela Glockler training orthodox doctors in Anthroposophical medicine around the world. Anthroposophical Medicine is an approach to medicine based on the insights of Dr Rudolf Steiner.

Dr Ritchie was the key note speaker at the Steiner national kindergarten conference 2007, speaking about the 6 constitutional types described by Rudolf Steiner and how our understanding of these constitutional characteristics can help us as educators in working with the children we meet today.

We were so impressed that we asked him to come to Auckland regularly to work with us and to give this talk to parents and the wider community on this very interesting and important topic - no easy feat in his busy schedule!

It is definitely an opportunity not to be missed.
